The traditional market in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie
The Provencal market…Something special happens when you're surrounded by the stalls of the stallholders. Olives, thyme, rosemary, goat's cheese... so many scents to tantalise your senses. But when your stay comes to an end, you'll be sure to want to take some local produce home with you, and leave with a touch of Provence in your luggage.
You can do just that at Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. Every Friday morning, throughout the year, the market takes place in the square opposite the town hall. During the summer season, other markets are held in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. Seasonal produce from the Verdon will be on display. A veritable firework display of taste and colour. Several producers will be on hand to introduce you to their products, including goat's cheese, olive oil and almond biscuits from the Plateau de Valensole. If you'd like to take a souvenir home with you, the artisans will also be on hand to offer you their products and expertise. You can also go to the village centre to appreciate the finesse of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie earthenware.
